ust to let everyone know, the link we have to find hotels and their information near KAC is set to search automatically for hotels for 2 nights on the days of the convention. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the date was still set for last year! The problem has been corrected, and if you use the Google Maps plug-in now, you should get any needed information.

You can view the directory from our home page or by clicking here.

If you haven’t noticed our home page, Kajonk-A-Con’s date has been changed to December 4-6 for 2009. Why’s this? Unfortunately, the space needed for everything we’d like to provide was not going to be available on our original date & the weekend in December was our only option. Nothing else will change (except now there will be more time to pre-reg!) If you recall, this will be the same weekend as KAC ’08.

We apologize for any plans this may alter. Do get in touch with us if you have any questions.

Thank you to all who have pre-registered! Our $10 pricing tier has now ended, meaning current pre-registration is $20 for all 3 days. UT student may still pre-reg for $10 (note: a current UT ID is required to be shown at the registration booth.) To show our gratitude, we have decided to extend the pre-reg deadline to Dec. 3rd, meaning you can grab our great deal almost up until the day of the convention!

“Our Child’s Play artwork auction will also be held at Kajonk-A-Con, which is the only way of getting the official Legendary Realms Poster, featuring artwork by Jonatan Iversen, which will be signed by the creators of LR. This auction will be silent bids, there will be a sheet of paper for people to enter their bid and contact information. Bidding will end noon on sunday at which point the winner will be announced. They will receive the poster once payment has been made, which can be ethier in cash, cheque, or paypal (credit/debit card).”

“On The Lamb’s table top role playing game, “Legendary Realms”, is having its release event moved to Kajonk-A-Con after the cancellation of Janicon. Preorders of the Player’s Handbook will still ship on the street date of Nov. 19th, but the add on content will be pushed back to Kajonk-A-Con, along with several special announcements related to upcoming releases from On The Lamb.”

To try to allow our attendees to give us feedback and submit ideas, we have installed a widget onto our site for our Get Satisfaction profile. This will enable you to use Get Satisfaction without ever having to leave our site (via the link in our Community section). So, no matter where you are, your ideas can be instant.

BAM!

We’re So 2.5

So we’re always looking at new web applications that Kajonk-A-Con can be involved with and that are just plain cool. We’re now on VerveEarth. Not much to say, other than check it out!

MTAC ’08

April 28, 2008

I never made a post about this, but KAC staff was at MTAC in Nashville this weekend. We didn’t have a table, but you probably (hopefully?) saw our flyers around the convention and talked to one of us about it.

Props to the MTAC staff for getting together another year. I hope everyone had a great time.

In further news, the new site is going live tonight (www.kajonk-a-con.com) and will be updated over the course of the next few days with pre-reg, location information, guests, etc. Be sure to check that out and let us know how you like it so far!

Fresh Start!

April 17, 2008

Welcome to the Kajonk-A-Con blog! We’ll post all of the latest news about KAC here.

We had this blog before, as well as a Blogger page, and we failed to update either one on a regular basis. We’re going to try to change that starting today. We’ve wiped the old entries for a fresh start. From now on the KAC staff will be adding to this blog when anything new comes up during the process of planning for this year’s event in the fall – which would be a good time to drop an update about where we are right now.

It isn’t official, but we’re hoping to be in the UT Conference Center. It’s a good location, being near a few hotels and within walking distance to downtown Knoxville and to UT campus. Fingers crossed for it to work.

More news to follow. Here’s to KAC in ’08!
